GSP Router
Overview
I developed a custom Wi-Fi router based on OpenWrt to support set-top box and mobile device development. The router was customized to enable hot reloading on development devices, providing DNS support and a proxy service. It inserted a domain-validated SSL certificate and spoofed the bundle URL, allowing seamless hot reload functionality across devices including Roku, Android TV, Xbox, and Fire TV. Leveraging OpenWrt’s open-source framework, I tailored the firmware to implement these capabilities. Additionally, I built a macOS app in Swift that provided real-time network insights, similar to tools like Charles Proxy or Wireshark. I also created a build system that would write an ISO for easy deployment. The device was a huge success. Its used by multiple dev and qa teams.
